Cocoon Vascular Occluder

The Cocoon Vascular Occluder is indicated for use in arterial and venous embolizations in the peripheral vasculature.

The Cocoon Vascular Occluder is a self expandable occlusion device made from braided nitinol wire mesh coated with platinum. The occluder has a screw attachment on one side and a titanium band on the other. Platinum provides superior biocompatible properties compared to Nitinol. The platinum coating also provides radio opacity which enables easy positioning in the defect. The occluders have multiple layers of wires which aids in total occlusion of the defect

Accessory Set

The device is preloaded into a loader, connected to a delivery cable and supplied inside a hoop dispenser.
The accessory set includes a loader, delivery cable, Y-Adaptor and a 3-way stop cock.The Delivery Cable consists of:

  • Delivery cable - twisted stainless steel wires used to deliver the device (130cms length)
  • End screw - used to secure the device to the cable
  • Plastic vise – used to rotate the cable to release the device
